Message: What kind of stores in the US would sell a wide variety of imported beers? Would a good "party store" have a good selection of beer, or do they just specialize in booze and domestic stuff? I want to pick up a couple cases of Murphy's Irish Stout the next time I'm in the Detroit area. The beer store only sells it in kegs and I don't want quite that much.

We often go out for couple of beer, and he always says how delicious the Czech Beer is.

1. Pilsner Urquell
2. Gambrinus
3. Radegast
4. Staropramen
5. Krusovice
Relax. Get addicted. Come Czech Republic while most of the North American call the nation still Czechoslovakia.
Recommend some you like.

Dark beer can be really good, because they have a lot of flavour, unlike pilsners and lagers (Blue and Canadian), but they can also be really bad if the flavour is crappy.

I paid attention for the import beers last time I went shopping, and bought cerry beer, Belle-Vue kriek!! While Czech beer taste awesome for me and less than half the price of the cerry beer, I bought it because of your message above.
I will report you.
BTW, it's not about beer, but have you ever drunk pop called Kofola? It's Czech Coke, which they also imitated brand name. Try it if you had a chance. For me, I like this Kofola better than Coke.

Kozel is good, but not my favorite. We have different preference. But we both like beer a lot. You have knowledge about them. You have not killed enough brain cells. I like to kill them a lot with friends. (But I canft catch up with my crazy American and Swedish friend, who is very keen at the same time. They have at least 1.5 times bigger body and order same amount of light beer which you can drink more than water)
Anyways, Ifm getting over with flu, and soon, Ifll gain my taste and sense of smell, so Ifll try cherry beer.
Btw, have you heard about Banana or strawberry flavor? I heard from someone that some pub in Prague brews it.

Message: I drink most beer I like, like it was water unfortunatley. Sometimes I don't realize how much I've had. Light beer usually slows me down because I don't like it much and it's often very bitter.
I've never heard of banana or strawberry beer, but I have had raspberry beer. Tastes very similar to the cherry. Bellevue apparently also makes a very good beer which changes colour after you pour it. Never had it myself (mostly it's not available here), but it's supposed to be good.

Message: I had Bellevue Kreik, cherry beer, last night.
Itfs so bubbly!! When I pulled out a cork top, with no shaking, bubble slowly grew and overflowed.
I poured it into a glass. 8 / 8.56 turned into bubble. I waited 5 minutes and it reduced its volume closed to 4.76 / 8.56.
Alcohol volume was about 5%, slightly stronger than regular light beer, but I tasted it as much stronger somehow.
Maybe Cherry taste helped me to feel stronger alcohol. I think it takes while to get used to the taste.

Last week I had Delirium Tremens from Belgium, very yeasty tasting, and it's 8.7% alcohol. Not terribly impressed. I also had a microbrewed beer from Toronto, Mill Stree Coffee Porter. It has a very strong coffee taste to it, pretty good once you get used to the cold coffee taste. Not bitter.

When I try, Ifll report you. (Maybe with photo)
Staropramen (Gold one) is one of the most famous beers from Czech. I like Pilsner Urquell more though.
Anyways, containers of the beer influence the taste
Also what do you think about relationship between beer taste and climate? Friend of mine once told me Pilsner beer in Czech and in Japan tastes quite different. Maybe itfs psychological effect. Or maybe it is transporting method. (keeping it in the -30C in the airplane cargo area)

Message: Well, beer being cold is generally good for shipping up until the point ice crystals start to form, then you might make things come out of solution. Heating is one of the worst things that can happen for sure. Heat and light are the two major causes of beer going bad.
Was your friend talking about a pilsner made in the Czech Republic and the difference between getting it there and getting it in Japan? Often beers even have different formulas for different countries maybe because of laws or because to survive a long trip they may need to add preservatives. Not to mention, a lot of imported beers come in cans because cans are cheaper to import since they weigh less than bottles.

Message: My friend brought back Pilsner as souvenir, and he had it in Japan with his friends and noticed the taste difference.
Mood often determines ones feeling. There was an interesting test that some TV show interviews house wife on street and blind them and make them eat rice and tell whether it is Japan made (considered good rice), California, or Thai-rice. The result was like they tend to hear leader like house wifefs opinion, so all get correct answer or all gets wrong. I donft know if it is reasonable thing to compare with the taste of beer, but maybe He likes Czech beer so much and want make his frined even more impressed so he felt it must be better taste than the same beer he drinks. I donft knowc I drunk much Japanese beer in Japan while traveling, and I came back and had it in god damn expensive Japanese restaurant in Prague. I liked one I had in Japan more.
So the beer I had with you a day before leaving from US is the best taste of American water beer.
This weekend, I will try to have coffee beer. I canft wait. My hands start to shake when I think about beer. (j/k)
